The 4 Promo Cards of the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order Build & Battle Box
In this guide:
- 1. The March 2026 Prerelease Tournaments
- 2. Serperior: The Forest Monarch
- 3. Barbaracle: The Energy Accelerator
- 4. Tyrantrum: The 330 HP Tank
- 5. Doublade: The Blade Assault
The brand-new Pokémon TCG expansion, Mega Evolution—Perfect Order, officially releases on March 27, 2026. But eager fans can get their hands on it early through Prerelease tournaments!
Starting March 14, 2026, participating Play! Pokémon stores will offer the Build & Battle Boxes. This format is perfect for experiencing the new expansion through quick matches. Each box contains a ready-to-play 40-card deck, four booster packs from the new series, and most importantly, one of four exclusive foil promo cards.
Here is a detailed breakdown of these 4 promos that will set the pace for your Prerelease events and perhaps join your PokéFolio collection.
1. Serperior: The Forest Monarch
The first promo card is Serperior, a majestic and formidable choice for the late game.
- "Regal Command" Attack: Rewards patience by dealing 20 damage for each of your Pokémon in play. Ideal for players who like to fill their Bench.
- "Rosa's Encouragement" Synergy: If this Supporter card is in your discard pile, the damage from the "Solar Coiling" attack jumps to 250! A devastating blow to your opponents.
2. Barbaracle: The Energy Accelerator
If you enjoy Fighting-type decks, Barbaracle is the promo card for you. It serves as an exceptional support engine.
- "Stone Arms" Ability: Allows you to attach Fighting Energy from your hand to one of your Basic Fighting Pokémon. A crucial piece for a Mega Zygarde ex deck!
To maximize its potential, equip it with Rocky Fighting Energy. This will protect Barbaracle from the effects of your opponent's attacks (meaning Klefki's "Memory Lock" Ability won't be able to block you). Adding Landorus will give you even more flexibility to manipulate your Energy with its attack.
3. Tyrantrum: The 330 HP Tank
Tyrantrum wears its crown well. It is a fearsome attacker that can turn into a truly impenetrable wall.
- "Tyrannically Gutsy" Ability: Boosts Tyrantrum's HP from 180 to a monstrous 330 if it has any Special Energy attached.
- "Wreak Havoc" Attack: Allows you to flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, you discard the top card of your opponent's deck.
⚠️ Fossil Mechanic:
Don't forget that to get Tyrantrum onto the field, you must first play Antique Jaw Fossil. Supporter cards like Team Rocket's Petrel and Drayton will be essential for searching these cards out of your deck.
4. Doublade: The Blade Assault
The Prerelease format has a special rule: you can have more than four copies of the same Pokémon in your deck. Doublade is designed to exploit this loophole.
- "Weaponized Swords" Attack: Its damage is maximized based on the number of your Blade Pokémon (Honedge, Doublade, or Aegislash) in play. You could line up six or seven of them on your field for an absolute massacre!
Since Doublade's HP isn't very high, consider using the Full Metal Lab Stadium card to reduce the damage it takes. The Ignition Energy will also allow you to launch an attack without needing to attach Energy beforehand.
Prepare your strategies for March 2026, add these future promos to your wishlist, and head to your local game store to participate in the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order Prerelease!
